As a school, we feel it is important to have the right foundations, and the building of Christian foundations starts when children are still small.  Our school offers your child the best start in every aspect of life.

Reading and writing are crucial skills, even more so for all of us as Christians, as we must be literate in order to study the Word of God and to spread the Gospel throughout the world.  It is therefore of paramount importance that your child will learn to read and write in a godly environment, where Christ, the Living Word, is central.

Our ABC’s programme is called “ABC’s with Ace and Christi”.  Ace and Christi are the main characters representing students in the ABC’s programme. They grow with the children, and accompany them until they leave school at 18!

Curriculum:

In ABC’s with Ace and Christi, the same set of characters is encountered as elsewhere in the ACE package.  ACE (Accelerated Christian Education) has an excellent Learning to Read programme. Before children enter the ABC class, they need to pass a Reading Readiness Test.  This must be passed with an 80% pass mark in order for a child to enter the programme.

ABC’s with Ace and Christi is a multi-sensory, phonetic programme, specifically designed to teach children to read.  (The phonetic method of teaching reading, which was the traditional method in all types of school until a generation ago, giving the sounds of each letter in context, has recently been encouraged again by educationalists and the government, as a result of the evident failure of other, looser methods.)  Within a period of 11 to 14 weeks, children become acquainted with cartoon animals, songs, and stories that help them learn letter sounds, alphabet sequence, and word relationships. They are also helped in their physical and character development through poems, displays, and various activities.
