We aim to present a Christian worldview to the children in the whole curriculum, cherishing as we do the freedom to follow own study priorities under God’s Word. As far as is possible, we try to use Christian publishers for our curriculum resources.

Our main resource is a series of work booklets produced by ACE, known as Packages of Accelerated Christian Education (PACE).  This excellently designed curriculum allows students to progress at their own speed.

The core of the ACE curriculum comprises individualised programmed learning in:
 Mathematics
 English Grammar
 Word Building (spelling and meaning)
 Sciences (eventually separate Biology, Chemistry and Physics)
 Social Studies (Christianity in the context of World History and Geography).

The programmed learning approach is such that it makes the student responsible for his or her own learning. The student therefore takes responsibility for progress and has to learn how to set realistic goals and achieve them. The emphasis in the work is upon outcome and success. Students are also responsible for marking and scoring their own work accurately. They learn how to set realistic goals for what can be achieved in each subject every day. A target of twelve PACEs in each subject per year is set for most students.  However, the students work at their own level and rate.

Individualised programmed learning is supplemented with group work where students interact with one another and with a teacher.  Afternoon lessons include Latin, Logic, Practical Science, Geography, History, Music, Art, Information Technology, Practical Maths, English Literature, Life Skills, Current Affairs and Games lessons. Games taught include Football, Netball, Hockey, Cricket, Rounders and Volleyball. Parents assume their own responsibility for training their children in gymnastics and swimming, taking advantage of clubs and leisure centre courses.

A report on each student’s progress is sent home twice a year and two parents’ evenings are held to discuss the progress of our children.  The school seeks to help all pupils develop their full potential and aims to offer particular support, in partnership with parents, where weak areas are identified.
